So I went to South Australia again, this time for 5 nights on the lands. It wasn't nearly as hot, and the air conditioner was working again in the house. We spent 3 nights in one community and then 2 nights at the Marla Travellers Rest. Yeah, not really much, but the grounds are nice enough with shaded areas. The rooms were okay, the televisions ancient tubes with push buttons, no remote. Didn't matter much as there were only a few channels that came in clearly on it. I didn't care. I had my portable hard drive with me.
We didn't see any camels this time around, which is so strange after seeing about 1000 the last time. We did see some donkeys, lots of horses, including one with a broken leg that someone was about to put down...
Bush circuit court was interesting, and about how I expected and hoped it would be. Informal but still in charge. I met a ton of new people that work on the lands. Next month we head to Western Australia for the AGM for my agency, bush camping for 2-3 nights with over a hundred members of NPY. I can't wait!
