Desert Park Sunday

the park guard with two galaus - they are everywhere here
My friend G. and I went back to Desert Park just over in Larapinta, which is basically still in Alice Springs. We hadn't gone to any of the lectures yet, and there was one exhibit left to see from our last visit. It was a gorgeous blue sky day, just a breath of wind, and about 22C or more in the sun. The birds of prey lecture was cool, watching the birds swoop over us while the trainer fed them. The owl was particularly awesome. Actually, I liked them all. Then we went to visit the kangaroos again, as I like watching them, and taking their photograph. Then we went to an Aboriginal Culture lecture, which focused on women's traditional tasks, tools, and medicine. It was pretty good and the young woman who was giving the lecture was easy to understand.

here it comes toward me!

she was feeding the owl dead mice

this falcon was a fast mover

and made sure you heard him coming in for the kill

could catch the meat in the air and eat it
